Age Criteria for HAS Exam 2021

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on the first January- 2022, meaning thereby that candidates born on or after 02-01-1996 are underage whereas applicants born on or before 01-01-1982 are overage.

Educational Qualification for Appearing in HAS Exam 2021

A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.

A candidate who has appeared at an examination, the passing of which would render him eligible to appear at this examination but has not been informed of result, may apply for admission to the examination. A candidate, who intends to appear at such a qualifying examination, may also apply provided the qualifying examination is completed before the commencement of this examination. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible, but the admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation if they do not produce proof of having passed the examination as soon as possible and in any case not later than two months after the commencement of this examination, failing which their candidature shall automatically stand cancelled.

Candidates who have passed the final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination equivalent thereto but have not completed their internship by the time of submission of their application for the HAS etc. examination will be provisionally admitted to the examination provided they submit along with their applications a copy of certificate from the University/ Institutions that they had passed the requisite final professional medical examination. In such cases, the candidates will be required to produce, at the time of their interview, original degree
or a certificate from the concerned competent authority of the University / Institutions that they had completed or requirement (including completion of internship) for the award of degree.

Aspirants appearing for the HPPSC HPAS Examination will be selected based on the prelims and mains exam. Candidates will be selected for the mains examination only if they qualify in the prelims examination. The weightage will be more on the Mains Examination with about 20 times total the approximate number of vacancies, so prepare well in order to grab this golden opportunity.

Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Syllabus 2021 – Aptitude Test


Interpersonal skills including communication skills

magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)

HPAS Eligibility Criteria

HPAS is the prestigious exam conducted by HPPSC. It recruits the top layer of the state bureaucracy. HPAS notification defines the HPAS eligibility criteria.


The candidate must be a citizen of India. Only Indian citizen can join the HPAS and other state allied services.

Educational Qualification for HPAS

The minimum educational qualification essential to appear in the HPAS is a graduate degree from any recognized university. It does not mention any minimum percentage required in the bachelor’s degree course. The candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation course can also appear in the HPAS exam, but their examination process should end before the commencement of this exam. They have to produce the mark sheet of the qualifying exam after the exam ends or within two months of the exam.

Age limit for HPAS

The age limit defined the HPAS notification published by HPPSC. The lower age limit is 21 years and the uppers age limit is 35 years. HPPSC counts the age from January 1 of the examination year. But there are relaxations provided to the candidates belonging to certain reserved categories.
